Jenny is excited to return to ECP and her hometown after spending eight years working as an academic developer at the Faculty of Engineering at Lund University in southern Sweden. While doing her PhD in materials chemistry at U of T (2013), Jenny spent two years as Lead Writing TA for the Department of Chemistry in the WIT program, then worked full-time for two years as a CI in ECP. In Lund, Jenny taught courses in academic writing and oral presentation skills for PhD students and a range of pedagogical courses for PhD students and engineering faculty. She’s working on a second PhD, this time in engineering education, that focuses on using philosophy of science to help academic teachers and academic developers in the STEM disciplines (mainly engineering) better understand and engage with the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL). She has also just begun working as an Associate Editor for Teaching & Learning Inquiry, the ISSOTL journal. She’s looking forward to getting back in the classroom with engineering students and being part of the ISTEP team!
